Abstract
A live demonstration of our fingertip force-based 3D locomotion system. Visitors can experience YUBI, a thumb-driven force input device that maps subtle fingertip forces into 4-DoF locomotion (3 translational axes + yaw), and try our proposed “wheel-like” redundant mapping that integrates 6-DoF force inputs from both thumbs. Through hands-on tasks such as navigating a virtual tunnel course, attendees can feel how a small physical displacement can deliver intuitive and embodied control of 3D motion, with potential applications in drone teleoperation, VR locomotion, and remote robotics.
